Quran
The Arabic text is the Uthmani text (Hafs) of the Tanzil Project, used unchanged under its Creative Commons licence (tanzil.net). Translations of the meanings: Rowwad Translation Center (English) and Muhammad Ibrahim Junagarhi (Urdu), from QuranEnc.com. A translation conveys meaning and is not the Quran itself.
Hadith
Explained hadith are from HadeethEnc.com, the Encyclopedia of Translated Prophetic Hadiths: each hadith with its grade, source, translation and explanation, shown exactly as published. Only hadith graded Sahih or Hasan are included. The complete books (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, the four Sunan, the Muwatta of Imam Malik, an-Nawawi’s Forty and forty Hadith Qudsi) are their classical Arabic text, with the books’ numbering and the grades of named scholars, from the hadith-api collection (github.com/fawazahmed0/hadith-api), released into the public domain. Where a book’s hadith is also in HadeethEnc, its translation and explanation are shown with it. Duas and guidance elsewhere in Arkaan are referenced to the six books.
Adhaan
The Adhaan recordings are sourced from Islamic Network (islamic.network, aladhan.com) and belong to Islamic Network and the mu’adhins who recorded them: Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Ahmad al-Nafees, Mansour Al-Zahrani and Hafiz Mustafa Özcan. More recordings come from the Internet Archive (archive.org): the collections “Adhan Notifications” and “Makkah Azan”, which their uploaders marked Public Domain (Sheikh Ali Ahmed Mullah and Masjid an-Nabawi, Ahmed al-Imadi, Majed al-Hamathani, Nasser al-Qatami and Mokhtar Hadj Slimane), and Haramain Recordings’ collections of the mu’adhins of Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi, each named in the list of voices. They belong to the mu’adhins who recorded them. Each alert plays the opening of the Adhaan, ending between phrases, within the 30 seconds an iPhone alert allows.
Live from the Haramain
The 24-hour broadcasts of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority: Quran TV from Masjid al-Haram and Sunnah TV from Masjid an-Nabawi, from their official YouTube channels, shown in YouTube’s own player. Arkaan does not record or re-stream them.
